The Toothboss, the South Weymouth dental practice of Dr. Richard Wolfert, DMD, recently announced it will provide free cleanings to federal workers currently furloughed by the government shutdown. The offer is also good for immediate family members if accompanied by the furloughed federal worker on the visit.
“I worked for the federal government for 30 years as a member of U.S. Navy, Army and National Guard and I feel a strong kinship to federal workers going through this struggle,” said Dr. Wolfert. “A cleaning might not be a high priority when you are worried about how to make ends meet. Yet oral health is so important to overall health that we wanted to do something for federal workers to show our support.”
Additionally, furloughed federal workers who need more than a cleaning can receive a reduced rate on other services. These rates are the same as the ones offered in The Toothboss Benefit Program.
“If a furloughed federal worker needs services beyond a cleaning, we can offer a 20 percent reduction off our usual fee,” said Dr. Wolfert. “This way furloughed federal workers can get the care they need at a fixed rate without co-pays or deductibles.”
