Dr. Richard Wolfert, DMD, a South Weymouth, MA dentist, recently announced the availability of mini-implants at his 1121 Main Street practice. The new service will be available to new and existing patients desiring dental Implants.
“Over the years, dental implants have become a mainstay to replacing missing teeth and stabilizing partial or full dentures, said Dr. Wolfert.
A conventional dental implant requires three months after implantation to become stable enough for restoration. The mini-implant is stable enough in most cases for a replacement tooth or denture stabilization upon implantation.
“The mini-implant works very well when you have one missing tooth with little room or not enough bone to support a conventional Implant,” said Dr. Wolfert. “With the smaller implant, you essentially screw in the implant and it threads into the jawbone. It’s very stable.”
Dr. Wolfert also noted that mini-implants can also be used to stabilize patients who utilize a full or partial denture.
“Mini-implant surgery is far less invasive and sometimes much more affordable than traditional dental implants,” said Dr. Wolfert. “In most cases, with preparation including impressions to make the teeth ahead of time, we can put in the implant and have you fitted for replacement teeth in the same day.”
Not every case warrants this type of treatment. For more information about mini-implants and to see if you’re a candidate, please contact The Toothboss at 781-335-0604 to set up a consultation.
